What we did?
This publicly owned company had multiple catalyst baskets that were collecting particles in the Air Pollution Control System. Each of the baskets weighed 3500 pounds. Within a two week window of time, Southern Field came out and replaced 352 of them. Not only does this involve heavy rigging skills and attention to detail, but it also requires a keen eye for safety throughout the process.
It was evident after the job was complete and the catalyst baskets were performing correctly that Southern Field’s equipment combined with their skillset, is what got the job done in such an efficient time period.
Results?
During the outage there was a small bump in the road that caused some heavy thinking. To begin with, the customer ordered the catalyst baskets too big to fit in the breech opening. Although this was not the most ideal situation, Southern Field’s teams of expertise were able to modify the opening to accept the larger baskets with no back charge to the customer.
This outage finished with 100 percent quality and because the outage only lasted two weeks, there was minimal loss of productivity. The customer was so satisfied with the results, that they have hired Southern Field to complete a similar outage in the upcoming months.
